The reporter learned from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Economic Committee and other departments that within the next three years, Inner Mongolia will issue preferential policies to encourage the use of coalbed methane resources.
As one of the most abundant coal reserves in China, Inner Mongolia has rich reserves of CBM resources. It is estimated that the reserves of CBM will be about 500 billion cubic meters, and the CBM resources now identified are 260 billion cubic meters. At the same time, at present, the comprehensive utilization of CBM in Inner Mongolia has just started. Although the existing coal mines extract about 32 million cubic meters of CBM, the actual utilization is less than 40,000 cubic meters per month. Most of the gas is wasted.
It is estimated that by 2010, CBM extraction volume in Inner Mongolia will reach about 146 million cubic meters, and in 2012 it will further increase to about 296 million cubic meters. In order to guide enterprises to use coalbed methane, from 2010 to 2012, Inner Mongolia will actively implement the policy requirements of the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments, and implement a subsidy of 0.2 yuan for each cubic meter of coalbed methane used, and 1 kilowatt for a coalbed methane power plant. The current electricity subsidy policy of 0.25 yuan, and appropriate reductions in the use of CBM utilization companies income tax and import tariffs.
In addition, Inner Mongolia will also provide technical support for the construction, integration and distribution of CBM power generation companies through Inner Mongolia Electric Power (Group) Co., Ltd.
