F. O. Licht said that the main reason for the reduction in global biodiesel production data in 2011 was the increase in demand for vegetable oil in the food industry.
F. O. Licht anticipates that the EU-27’s biodiesel production in 2011 will be 10.4 million tons, compared to 9.5 million tons in 2010. South America has 5 million tons, which is higher than 4.5 million tons in 2010. 2.6 million tons in Asia and 2.3 million tons in 2010. North America, China and the United States have 2.2 million tons, and in 2010, it was 1.6 million tons.
For France, F.O. Licht expects biodiesel production to stabilize at 2.2 million tons in 2011, and Germany’s production will increase from 2.4 million tons in 2010 to 2.5 million tons.
In 2010, the EU’s biodiesel production capacity increased from 21.1 million tons in the previous year to 21.8 million tons, while the capacity utilization rate was about 50%.
According to analyst firm F. O. Licht, global biodiesel production in 2011 is expected to reach 20.5 million tons, which is 2.5% lower than the earlier forecast of 20.6 million tons, which is higher than the expected 18.1 million tons this year.
