French tire manufacturer Michelin has announced that it plans to upgrade and expand the BFGoodrich Tire manufacturing plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA, in order to increase its production capacity. It is reported that this investment will create 35 new jobs for the local people. For this reason, Michelin will invest an additional 50 million U.S. dollars.

The factory was opened in 1961 and has an area of ​​1.9 million square feet (about 177,000 square meters) and employs 1,580 people. At present, the factory mainly produces commercial vehicle and light truck BF Goodrich tires.

Dent Johnson, plant manager at the Fort Wayne plant, said: "This investment will increase our production capacity on the one hand, and on the other hand, it will enable us to continue to provide customers with quality products. At the same time, we will increase the flexibility of the plant. Sex and productivity will help increase our long-term competitiveness.”

Michelin said that the upgrade and expansion of the plant is about to begin.
