· Meishan Port imported 1,613 vehicles last year

Imported cars are becoming a new business growth point in Meishan Bonded Port Area. According to data released by Ningbo Customs recently, the number of imported vehicles in Meishan Port in 2014 reached 1,613, with a value of 519 million yuan. The imported models are mainly high-end off-road vehicles, including BMW X5 and X6, Land Rover Range Rover, and Toyota Land Cruiser.
Meishan Bonded Port Area is the only import port for automobile vehicles in our province. It officially launched the automobile import business at the end of 2013. In the first half of last year, the total import volume of Meishan Port was only 260. In order to reverse the slow growth, since June 2014, Meishan Customs has launched a series of measures to facilitate the import and customs clearance of automobile vehicles, including vehicle clearance and temporary entry. In the second half of the year, the total import of Meishan Port reached 1,352 vehicles.
Optimistic about the development potential of the automobile import business, many domestic private enterprises and central enterprises began to deploy the Meishan Bonded Port Area. At present, 42 companies have applied for the import of complete vehicles in Meishan, including 34 new ones in the second half of last year.
