On October 21, 2010, Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with Chengdu Nanjun Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (Nanjun Automobile), the largest commercial vehicle company in Sichuan, in Chengdu. This move shows that Hyundai has officially entered China, the world's largest commercial vehicle market. Through the signing of the cooperation agreement, Hyundai Motor and Nanjun Automotive will complement each other in a complete set of commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, engine production, R&D, and services, and carry out multi-angle and diversified in-depth cooperation. On April 28 this year, South Korea’s Hyundai Auto Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Nanjun Automobile Group formally signed the “Sichuan Hyundai Motor Joint Ventureâ€. However, its commercial vehicle products have been in a tepid state except that Ruifeng has opened up part of the Chinese market through technological cooperation with Jianghuai. With the termination of cooperation between the modern and Jianghuai, the Chinese market has also rarely seen modern commercial vehicles. Since then, the industry has also heard Hyundai’s rumors of a joint venture with GAC Commercial Vehicles and Beiben Heavy Duty Trucks, but no results have been achieved.
Hyundai Motor, which has long paid attention to China's commercial vehicle market, understands that as the world's largest single commercial vehicle market, the demand for China's commercial vehicle industry in 2010 was as high as 4.5 million. With the deepening of the Western Development Strategy, the market for commercial vehicles will be further promoted, and the future commercial vehicle market will expand on a large scale. In 2015, the total industrial demand will reach 5.5 million.
