It is understood that the 120,000 tons of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate project developed by Jinjiang Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. will be completed and put into production this year. Acetate products use alcohol as raw material and belong to environment-friendly benzene-free industrial solvents. They are widely used in the production of paints, dyes, printing inks and other products. Under normal circumstances, the price of ethyl acetate reaches 8,000 yuan per ton, and butyl acetate reaches 13,000 yuan per ton. This year, as raw material prices continue to fall, alcohol prices continue to rise, and Jinjiang’s major economic indicators, such as production and sales, tax invoicing, and taxation for storage, are showing a good momentum of growth. In the January-October period, more than 40,000 tons of alcohol had been produced, nearly 400 million yuan worth of invoiced sales, and nearly 70 million yuan in profits and taxes, with growth rates of 50%, 230%, and 110%, respectively. It is estimated that the annual production of alcohol will exceed 50,000 tons and the national tax invoice will reach 500 million yuan. From 2010, acetate will replace alcohol and become the main product of Jinjiang.
Deng Yuxiong, deputy general manager of Jinjiang Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., said that currently Jinjiang Company has requisitioned more than 140 acres of land for the development of acetate products. After the completion of the entire project, the company’s total economic output is estimated to reach 2 billion yuan. The company plans to form a production capacity of more than 300,000 tons, laying a solid foundation for building the world's largest production base for acetate solvent production.
