There are many ancient buildings in Tongli Town, both brick and wood structures in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The roads are narrow and it is difficult for large-scale fire engines to come in to extinguish the fire. To this end, the same police station with the police developed a "Hexi fixed fire pump", the equipment can be directly extracted from the river, into a high-pressure water fire extinguishing, easy to use. Tongli police station actively guided nearby residents to operate this new set of equipment and developed 50 fire-fighting volunteers. After discovering the fire, they can immediately take water and fire on the spot. After the trial operation, good results were obtained.

Since the beginning of this year, there have been 61 fire alarms in Tongli Town, a decrease of 14.08% year-on-year, and most of these fires were extinguished by residents using the “river fire pump”.
