The Ministry of Commerce’s website issued an announcement on the 29th to announce the distribution of China’s import tariff quotas for chemical fertilizers in 2011. According to the announcement, the total amount of import tariffs for fertilizers in China next year will be: 6.9 million tons of diammonium phosphate, 3.3 million tons of urea, and 3.45 million tons of compound fertilizer.
According to the announcement, all units that obtained tariff quotas for fertilizers will be able to apply for import certification from January 1, 2011. Units holding state-run trade quotas must entrust state-run trading companies to import agents, and must not entrust non-state-owned trading companies to import agents. State-run trade quotas must state “state-owned trade” in the “Proof of the Import Tariff Quota for Chemical Fertilizers”, and non-state-owned trade quotas must indicate “non-state-owned trade” in the “Proof of the Import Tariff Quota for Chemical Fertilizers”.
In addition, the Ministry of Commerce also announced the list of China's phosphate ore export enterprises in 2011 and issued the first batch of export quotas of 900,000 tons.
